N603FE MD11F Fedex Express visits Dublin Airport

                                                    N603FE MD11F Fedex Express  This weekend Dublin paid host to a visit of a Fedex Express MD11F. The aircraft N603FE MD11 construction number 48459 line number 470 hex code A7D2E6,  named "Elizabeth" operating from and to London Stansted arriving arrived in the early hours of Friday 16th August departing today at 1526 as FDX5210 to London Stansted. On a post to Irish Spotters Yahoo Group the purpose of the visit was ground familiarization for crews,with the MD-11 used as a standby replacement when required for the Airbus A300-600RF. The MD11 will be used on at least one Friday each month to ensure the crews are kept current. Fedex has a fleet of 64 MD11F's, N603FE first flight was 22nd August 1991 and delivered on 11th September 1991. Irish Aviation Research Institute © 17th August 2013 All Rights Reserved.

Alrosa Aviva first Boeing 737-800 prepares for delivery at Dublin

                                                    Courtesy: Paul Doyle  Russia carrier Alrosa Avia (Alrosa Air Company) is shortly to take delivery of an former ex Sky Airlines Turkey M-ABFV Boeing 737-83N/WL construction number 32576 on lease from GE Capital Aviation Service (GECAS). Alrosa is introducing the new “diamond” livery with this delivery. The aircraft is to take up Irish registration EI-FCH. This is the first of three Boeing 737-800s to join it's fleet to replace its current Tupolev 154 fleet by Spring 2014. Alrosa Avia based in Moscow Vnukovo commenced operations in 1995. The group currently operates 10 aircraft types. In 2008, the fleet was expanded with the Tupolev Tu-134s and Tu-154s, and is wet leasing a Boeing 737-76Q from Yakutia Airlines. Eclipse EA-500 Demonstrator visits Dublin Weston Airport

                                                    Courtesy: Damian Bracken  Yesterday Friday 16th August an Eclipse EA-500 N843TE construction number 000072 visited Dublin Weston Airport as a demonstrator to prospective clients. The aircraft list price is $1.2 million. The Eclipse competes in the Very Light Jet (VLJ) business segment against the Citation Mustang and the Phenom 100. The aircraft is a small six-seat business jet aircraft manufactured by Eclipse Aviation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, cruises at 370 knots (425 mph, 685 km/h) with a range of 1,125 nautical miles  operating to a service ceiling of 41,000 ft or 12,500 meters.
