Norwegian Airlines transfer of Boeing 787s from Irish register continues as CEO makes fresh appeal for US DOT approval

                                                  Image courtesy of Norwegian  Danish budget carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle 'Norwegian Airlines' has transferred three Boeing 787s that are currently registered to the airline's Irish subsidiary – Norwegian Air International (NAI) Ltd – under a 12-month exemption onto Norwegian aircraft register. According to Danish Newspaper Aftenposten, on Wednesday that Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos has now sent a letter to US Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx asking once again for a decision on the airline’s traffic rights to US destinations. Norwegian has been waiting 15 months for the license for Norwegian Air International (NAI)  to continue and expand its US flights, pending approval from US authorities.  The carrier's expansion would challenge immunized joint ventures on North Atlantic whom control more than 80 percent of market.
