Aer Lingus to deploy new Airbus A320neo's predominantly on London Heathrow route

                                                                   Aer Lingus announced that it has signed a lease agreement for two new Airbus A320neo aircraft. The new A320neos will support the airline’s sustainability programme where Aer Lingus, as part of IAG, has pledged to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and has committed to powering 10% of its flights using sustainable aviation fuel by 2030. EI-NSA msn 10712 EI-NSB msn 10786 named 'St Aodhan' , the two new A320neo aircraft were originally built by Airbus to be delivered to CDB Aviation for lease to Russian airline Smartavia in March but have now become available to Aer Lingus because of the ongoing sanctions against Russia. The two new aircraft will replace two previous generation aircraft, Airbus A320ceo, which will then be retired from the fleet. Ryanair links Dublin to Asturias from 2 November

                                                                  Irish budget carrier Ryanair announced that it will return to Asturias this winter season 2022/2023. The programme includes five new routes to Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, Düsseldorf Weeze, London Stansted and Rome FCO commencing 30 October with carrier expecting to carry 80,000 passengers. This is the largest offer of international flights in the history of the airport, as a result of its EU approved 'Connect Asturias' programme to 2026. In addition to the commitment made with the regional government under Connect Asturais' programme. Ryanair added two new routes that will connect Asturias with Dublin twice  weekly (Wednesday and Sunday) and London Stansted three times weekly (Monday, Tuesday and Saturday).                                                                    Emirates Airlines’ recently  resumed its daily Airbus A380 flight on its Brisbane route for the first time since before the pandemic. The airline has announced a partnership with Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) to celebrate the opening up of international travel. Icelandair enables one-stop connectivity from Dublin to Raleigh-Durham

                                                                  Icelandair operates a daily service from Dublin to Keflavik year-round using a mix of Boeing 737MAX-8/9 and Boeing 757-200/300 aircraft according to market demand.  On 12 May the carrier launched a new seasonal summer service to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) operating four times weekly on Tuesday, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays on a 160-seat Boeing 737MAX-8 or 178-seat Boeing 737MAX-9 till 30 October.                                                                   Luxair and SCR20 announced that they have entered a strategic partnership in the UK and Irish markets.  SCR20 Director, Simon Cook, commented 'I am excited to back working with the Luxair team and working for a brand I firmly believe in. I previously worked for Luxair between 2003 and 2007 so I feel like I am coming home.’ Luxair currently operates from Luxembourg to Dublin four times per week using a Bombardier Q400 with a capacity of 76 seats  and London City six times per day. Vueling Airlines extends Cork to Paris Orly year round, announces new Shannon route

                                                                The Barcelona-based low-cost airline Vueling Airlines part of the IAG Group has re-affirmed its commitment to the Irish market, indicating that they will extend their current Cork to Paris (Orly) service into the winter season and announcing new Paris Orly to Shannon route commencing twice weekly on 12 September operating on Mondays and Fridays. The European low-cost carrier will operate services on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from October 2022 through to March 2023. The inclusion of the Vueling Cork - Paris service in Cork Airport’s Winter Schedule is a welcome affirmation of Vueling’s commitment to operations at Ireland’s second largest airport.  Vueling Airlines operates daily services from Dublin to Barcelona and Paris Orly. More than 2.6 Million Passengers pass through Dublin Airport in May as airlines scale up operations

                                                                  The daa announced over 2.6 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in May, an increase of 2.4 million passengers when compared to 2021 and 87% of the passenger numbers seen pre-pandemic in May 2019, with strong growth reported in all market segments - Domestic (11,000) , Europe (1.4 million), UK (700,000) Middle East (51,000) and North America (320,000)  Aer Lingus resumed LAX service on 12 May operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.  American Airlines resumed direct daily seasonal flights from Dublin to Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare and Dallas on 6 May significantly increasing capacity using Boeing 777-200(ER) and Boeing 787-8 aircraft.  Aurigny resumed its Guernsey to Dublin route from 17 May operating using ATR72-500 aircraft three times weekly with Channel Islands bilateral agreement in place.  Blue Islands launched its new direct Dublin-Jersey service on 19 May following resolution of the Channel Islands b

                                                                  Irish carrier Aer Lingus has introduced a second flight from Dublin to Washington Dulles effective from 9th June for the first time utilizing Airbus A321LR aircraft, further strengthening its DUB HUB strategy, enabling passengers to connect from Washington D.C. to cities such as Naples, Lyons, Berlin and Barcelona for the first time through Dublin. EI-LRG Airbus A321-251NX msn 10291operated first EIN119 service on 9 June departing Dublin 1749 arriving Washington Dulles 2013 local and returning as EIN118 departing Washington Dulles 2242 arriving Dublin next day at 1000 local. Ryanair returns to Leipzig/Halle Airport, launches new route to Dublin

                                                                 Irish budget carrier Ryanair announced plans to return to Leipzig/Halle Airport in central Germany after an absence of three years,  launching two new routes services to Leipzig/Halle, as part of its winter 2022/2023 schedule from it's Dublin and London Stansted bases , operating five weekly flights from the start of IATA Winter Scheduled on 31st October.                                                                    The Ryanair Group has completed its first year of deliveries of its new Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 'Gamechanger' aircraft with the delivery of its 73rd aircraft, 9H-VVA  Boeing 737-8200 msn 65894 Malta Air  from Seattle to Dublin on 16th June in full Ryanair colours. Ryanair DAC (Ireland) is the largest operator with 32 aircraft followed by Malta Air subsidiary with 28 aircraft and Its Polish subsidiary Buzz operates 13 aircraft. According to Ryanair Group Annual Report 2021 the basic list price is $102.5 million for a new Boeing 737-8200. Emerald Airlines Takes Delivery Of 11th ATR72-600

                                                                 Emerald Airlines, exclusive operator of Aer Lingus Regional, took delivery of its 11th ATR72-600 on Friday 10th June. The aircraft EI-HDK ATR72-212A(600) msn 1334 routed Toulouse/Francaza to Dublin, was formerly registered as OY-YDO to Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). The carrier accepted delivery of two aircraft fleet number nine and ten to Dublin on Wednesday 25th May. EI-HDH  ATR72-212A(600) msn 1169 former 2-KCBA Chorus Aviation. EI-HDJ   ATR72-212A(600) msn 1324 former OY-YDN Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). EI-HBA Mitsubishi CRJ-1000 msn 19020 operated Skopje (SKP)- Belfast (BFS)- Hamburg (HAM) on 11th April as HG1572/HG1210 and Toulouse (TLS)-Dublin (DUB)-Hamburg (HAM) as HG1641/1442 on 12th May. SAS Connect Takes Delivery Of 14th Airbus A320neo

                                                                 Dublin based SAS SAS Connect has taken delivery of its 14th Airbus A320neo aircraft. The aircraft EI-SIO Airbus A320-251N msn 10813was delivered Toulouse to Copenhagen as 'SLI9150' on 11th May in an 180 economy class layout.   The aircraft entered service on 14th May as SAS583/584 from Copenhagen (CPH) to Malaga (AGP). SAS Connect has a further six Airbus A320neo on aircraft on order.  SAS Connect exclusively operates flights on behalf of SAS Scandinavia and currently operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A320neo with operational bases in Copenhagen (CPH, London Heathrow (LHR) and Malaga (AGP).  In November 2021, SAS Ireland was rebranded as SAS Connect. American Airlines Launches Largest Dublin Summer Schedule

                                                                    American Airlines launched its largest ever Dublin Summer Schedule on 6th May adding daily services to Charlotte (CLT), Dallas (DFW), Chicago (ORD) and Philadelphia (PHL) hubs using Boeing 777-200(ER) and Boeing 787-8 aircraft, a significant increase on pre-pandemic capacity as the airline reconfigured its long-haul fleet phasing out Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 767-300(ER)aircraft. The seasonal routes complement the airline’s existing year-round daily service from Philadelphia (PHL). Aer Lingus joined the Atlantic Joint Business (AJB) between American, British Airways, Iberia and Finnair last year and this summer will enable code-share connections codeshare connections on American Airlines flights from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to Albuquerque, New Mexico, (ABQ); Nashville, Tennessee (BNA); Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW); Los Angeles (LAX); Seattle (SEA); San Francisco (SFO); San Jose, California (SJC) and Tucson, Arizona (TUS).  A

SAS Link deploys Embraer 195 on Copenhagen to Dublin route

                                                              SAS Airlines Group subsidiary SAS Link has commenced periodically operating Embraer 195 in 114 seat configuration 10 business class and 104 economy class it's on parent's Copenhagen to Dublin route.  The aircraft SE-RSK operated on 8th and 29th May SAS2537/8 to and from Copenhagen (CPH).  SAS Link will operate six Embraer 195s, to be delivered in the first half of 2022, and will handle the group’s flights within the Northern European region. Strategic wet-lease partners manage production with smaller aircraft on routes and departures with lower demand, enabling increased flexibility and streamlined and simplified production. PH-GOV Boeing 737-700 BBJ Dutch Government visits Dublin Airport

                                                                 The Taoiseach Micheál Martin  hosted the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte in Dublin for a working dinner at Farmleigh House to discuss local and global issues on evening of Monday 23 May.  The Dutch Prime Minister travelled to Dublin onboard PH-BOV Boeing 737-700 BBJ msn 64970. The aircraft was delivered on 9th March 2018 replacing an Fokker F28, the aircraft operates under its registration and KLM flight numbers according to operational requirements, and maintained by Fokker Techniek, based at Maastricht. The BBJ is based on the 737-700 airliner, with the centre section, strengthened aft section, wings and landing gear of the 737-800. The glass cockpit incorporates many features of the Boeing 777 cockpit. The BBJ is certified and capable of 180mins extended-range, twin-engine operations (ETOPS) with a maximum range of 10,140km.
